Jamie Escalante Math Teacher

What shocked him whem he came to the Los Angeles? He was in shock because he had to repeat college.

  1. Why is escalante so hard on his students? Escalante was hard with his students because he want the best for them. " He pushed all his students to their limit".

  2. What problems did Escalante face as a teacher in the barrio? The school was overrun with gangs. Its students came froom poor families. Most of the students did finish high school.

  3. Why is the Advanced Placement exam so important? The Advanced Placement exam so important because students across the country who pass the test are given college credit for the course.
  4. Why were some of the students test answers a problem? His students cheating the test.
  5. Why was the students' success such a huge victory? They retook the test and all pass the exam. They did the test in the same way but they didn't cheat. All won the credit for calculos.
  6. Outside his own classroom, how did Escalante use his success to inspire more students? Outside his own classroom he was able to motive a small group of school.
  7. How does his teaching style reflect his rule? His teaching styly reflect that all his students follow his rule
  8. Which events might have made Escalante angry enough to give up? I think that this might events have made Escalante angry enough to give up: He had to work in four jobs to support his family. When he came to the United States he had to repeat the college. In the high school that he teach was overrun gans. His students came from poor families and its students don't finish hign school.
